Social Networks Battle for the Lead

Social Media Marketing Agencies
Marketers continuously try to figure out the best ways to advertise for their clients. It’s no secret that one of the most beneficial and efficient ways of marketing is through social media. Facebook, the leader of the social media trend, continues to reign over all the other social media tools. However, how much longer will Facebook keep its power?
According to the latest social media report from NM Incite/Nielsen, consumers spend more Internet time on social networks than on any other category of sites. Personal computer users spent about 20% of their total time online perusing social media sites. Likewise approximate 30 percent of their online time via mobile devices is spent on social media sites.
Further statistics display that the total time spent on social media networks in the United States across PCs and mobile devices has increased 37% to 121 billion minutes in July 2012. We compare this to the 88 billion in July 2011 and see a significant increase of time spent on social media in just the past year.
As noted, it is no secret that social media is a phenomenal marketing tactic considering the amount of website traffic that these networks receive. But should marketers rely solely on Facebook when other social media tools are growing substantially as well? For example, Pinterest experienced more robust growth than any other network in the past year. While Facebook still remains an invaluable tool, marketers and social media marketing agencies should share the attention with other social media sites as these networks continue to battle for the lead.
